Order of Ontario conferred on Frank Fernandes
Alumnus Frank Fernandes is one of the new appointees to the Order of Ontario. As a community leader and volunteer for over 35 years, Frank has been successful in building bridges between various communities and the police service, while forging partnerships in community-based policing and mobilization initiatives. His involvements with Rotary Clubs, St. John Ambulance, many community organizations and associations, including Guyanese and Chinese, truly exemplify the ideals of volunteerism – working to improve the quality of life of others without being motivated by financial or material gain. Frank has succeeded in redefining the standards of excellence in volunteerism with a proven record of active involvement for the social and economic well being of this great city. He is a Canadian with proud Guyanese heritage.
